Description
Fenton SUNSET STRETCH Bowl on stand from their 2002 collection. According to Fenton's catalog, the color of this iridescent stretch glass was called Sunset Stretch because"the ever changing hues of sunset...from peachy-pink and orange blush to the beige-gold of twilight...all captured forever. Like a sunset, the shades vary and each hand-crafted piece is unique. A similar color was first introduced in the mid 1920s as a stretch glass treatment. A special blend of metallic salts is sprayed on the hot glass before the piece is reheated and flared to it's final shape. As the finisher flares the glass, it stretches the metal coating resulting in the captivating 'stretch' look."
The bowl stands abut 4 1/4" high and is 6 1/2" diameter at it's widest. Hand painted pinkish white flowers flow around the entire piece. It comes on a Fenton black glass three footed stand which is 1" high. This piece retains it's original Fenton silver paper label (as well as it's original price label) and is signed
